For many years now the Iranian populace has paid the price for their ruling regime’s stubbornness in various political spheres. Whether it was the attacks on foreign embassies, the eight year Iran-Iraq war inflicted on Iran by the latter, interference in the affairs of other countries or, most recently, the nuclear predicament, it has always been the Iranian People who have been forced to shoulder the burden of this regime’s incompetence. They have endured sanctions and lived under their shadow for so long now that they have truly forgotten the feel and the texture of normal life; incidentally, this condition is exactly what the Islamic Republic takes advantage of and abuses…

In this month’s edition Br. Behrooz Behbudi, the founder of the council for a Democratic Iran puts the argument forward that much that takes place inside Iran has little to do with the will of the Iranian people.
