LEBANON DESIGNER SHINES AT PARIS FASHION WEEK

The 2013 Paris Fashion Week (Spring/ Summer) ended with an explosion of colour and inspiration from cultures across the world, which included the work of world renowned Lebanese designer Ellie Saab, who exhibited alongside Jean-Paul Gaultier and the house of Valentino. Saab delivered a graceful and elegant collection inspired from 19th century crinoline. Saab’s 2013 Spring/Summer collection explored the idea of transparency, using lighter shades like ivory and light blue, with black crinoline adding the “fairy-tale” element. Lebanese fashion was well represented and included other charismatic designers such as Georges Hobeika and Zubair Murad, who will all play a major part at the Beirut Fashion Week later this month in Lebanon.
