NEW PIPE ORGAN AT THE ROYAL OPERA HOUSE IN OMAN

A new organ made its debut at the spectacular Opera House in Muscat in early December 2012; it is the largest pipe organ in the Middle East. Its quality was demonstrated when it was being played by different organists interpreting a wide range of works from Beethoven to Handel and Saint Saens, during an entire day of experimental music to test the instrument’s capability and range.

Experts were on hand to explain the importance of the pipe organ and its evolution and development in the history of music. The evolution of the organ can be traced back more 2,300 years.
