Bahrain hosted the World Youth Conference, Organised by the General Organisation for Youth and Sport (GOYS) (21-23 September) under the theme “Youth Peace”.The event was held under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president, Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa. Some 400 youngsters took part in the event.”This large participation underlines the outstanding reputation enjoyed by the Bahrain in backing its young generation and give them a big role in discussing various issues,” said GOYS President Mohammed Al Jowder.

The conference also marked the International Day of Peace which aims to promote awareness among the youth about the importance of peace and the development .The six main themes were youth peace and basics of life, including youth peace in relation to: economic development, the media, sportsmanship, human development, and life experiences.
